Sonics AS-337

I bought this pair from an estate sale.   They had previously been opened by somebody for some reason.  The wood is quite nice, but scratched.

Problems discovered:

• One horn tweeter was bad

• Sound was very muddy and flat

• Some deep scratches in the finish, too deep to fully repair.

• Original lattice fronts are missing.

Restoration:

• Cleaned all dust

• Removed tape and stains

• Replaced the crossovers

• Removed the horn tweeters (there was too much treble with new crossovers)

• Listening test: very satisfactory

• Electronic test:  very satisfactory: see test report below

• Touched up and polished the finish.  

I'm very pleased with the result.  These certainly sound better than they did when new.
